Mumbai: Annual Orientation Day held for Commission for Women of Archdiocese of Bombay

Mumbai, Jul 13: The Archdiocesan Women's Commission - Annual Orientation Day was organized at St John the Evangelist Parish, Marol, Andheri (E) on July 10 under the leadership of Sunita Machado, executive secretary of the Archdiocesan Commission for Women.

After the registration and breakfast, the programme began with women’s creed and singing women’s anthem. A warm welcome to all extended by Sunita Machado.

Fr Anthony J Fernandes, priest in-charge started the session with a meaningful Action song 'LOVE IS SOMETHING THAT YOU GIVE IT AWAY AND IT COME BACK TO YOU' and conducted Ice-breaking games for all and entertained the crowd giving a message of how to interact & connect with different people.

Nathasha Mani briefed about SYNOD 2021-2023. She said, "The Synodal Journey must help every faithful to encounter Jesus Christ, Synodal Church means - Communion, Participation, Mission, Negative attitudes like leading by ourselves instead of being led by the Holy Spirit, see only problems - not the blessings, listening to only those associated with us etc. To build a domestic church first with our own family, Areas to work in Synodality like – animating a Mass once in six months, Accompanying women of all age etc. Also to maintain the life according to Proverbs-31 i.e Women is : Trustworthy, Honest, Reliable, Industrious, Creative, Kind, Cares for the Needy, Trusts in God to provide for the future, Thoughtful in what she say, Cares for the household & Fears the Lord."

Natasha also conducted a quiz on her presentation by giving a message as to how to recognize different talents of individuals. Merlyn D’Sa, coordinator of Bhayander deanery and municipal corporator of Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation presented gifts to all the winners of Ice breaking games.
 
Lorraine Mathias, coordinator of Navi Mumbai Deanery gave introduction on Women’s leadership training programme (WLTP) which will start from July 17 onwards and requested all Women to enroll their names and take the benefit of the same.

Rufiana presented list of all the programmes conducted by different Cells Deanery-wise and introduced all deanery coordinators & Co-DCs. Wilma D'Souza from St Treasa of Child Jesus church, Nerul (Navi Mumbai) explained about her PANDEMIC BABY WOMEN CELL initially started by 2 members, increased to 6 members only having virtual meetings, interacting and reaching the needy, now the strength of the Cell is 100+.Some women shared their experience how the Women Cell helped them during their worst time and are very happy being a Member of Women Cell.

Jennifer Koladkar thanked Sunita Machado, the executive secretary and Fr Antony presented her a Bouquet also thanking her for smoothly continuing her post with 2nd term with the qualities of simplicity, integrity, empathy, humility, positivity and many more. 

Thank you card was presented to the anchor of the day Pranita who kept the audience live by her wonderful compeering. All the arrangements & responsibilities were taken by Jennifer Koladkar & team, Marol very systematically.

The Holy Eucharistic was celebrated at the end by Fr Anthony and blessed all with final action song of 'God’s Love its so Wonderful'. Delicious food packets were served at the end.

More than 200 girls participated in this orientation programme and were all happy and grateful for this successful programme.
