Mangalore: Lord Venkataramana Temple - Idols of Deities Shifted

Mangalore, Mar 25: The renovation work of Lord Venkataramana Temple at Car Street here began in all earnestness on Thursday March 24. To pave way for the comprehensive renovation of the sanctum sanctorum and perimeter wall, the idols of Lord Veera Venkatesha and other family deities were shifted to ‘Balalaya’, temporary shelter.

The programme, which began with ‘Mahaprarthane’, continued with various Vedic rituals. Kalasbhabisheka, special puja etc, were performed.

Managing trustee of the temple, C L Shenoy, trustees, Madhava Kamath and Nityanand Nayak, renovation committee office bearers, M Padmanabha Pai and Satish Nayak, apart from temple Tantri, Pandit Narasimha Acharya, Kashinath Acharya and other Vedic scholars were present.
