Mangalore, Mar 25: The residents of coastal Karnataka and other regions continued to reel under sweltering heat on Thursday March 24. Their wait for rain proved futile.

However, Chikmagalur town and some places in that district received rains on Thursday evening. Places like N R Pura and Balehonnur also got some rains. With the arrival of rains, the people got some respite from scorching heat.

In the meanwhile, district collector of Kasargod district, K Satish, said that the Arabian Sea is likely to turn tumultuous during high tide, and advised the fishermen to exercise maximum caution.
