Mumbai, Jul 11: “We will have a harmonious life when we progress ahead in unity. Therefore it is necessary for the journalists to have a feeling of equality. We should have professional competition in our offices but develop unity as a community of journalists. It can be a strong foundation lasting till the end of our lives,” said Rons Bantwal, president of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra.
He was speaking after presiding over the eleventh annual meeting of the Sangha held at the club house of Solitary Corporate park, Andheri east on Sunday morning, July 10.
Vice president of the sangha, Ranga S Poojary, honorary secretary Ravindra Shetty Talipady, honorary treasurer Nagesh Poojary Elinje, joint treasurer Dr G P Kusuma and Patrakartara Bhavana committee president Shiva Moodigere were on the dais.
Ranga S Poojary welcomed. Ravindra Shetty Talipady read the previous year’s report and gave details of annual activities. Nagesh Poojary gave details of accounts for previous year. Dr Shiva Moodigere gave details of activities planned during the next year. CA I R Shetty and company were reappointed as auditors for the sangha for the year 2022-23.
Executive committee members Vishwanath Niddodi, Anita P Poojary Takode, advisory committee members CA I R Shetty, Dr R K Shetty, Dr Sunita M Shetty, Gregory D’ Almeida, Surendra A Poojary, Pandith Navinchandra R Sanil, Sudhaker Uchil, Dr Suresh S Rao, specially invited members CA Jagadish B Shetty, S Daya, Savita S Shetty, Gopal Trasi, Karunaker V Shetty and others were present.
Dr R K Shetty said that journalists are necessary for a healthy society. Nityananda D Kotian and A Karkera gave suggestions for the growth of the sangha. Homage was paid earlier to the journalists who passed away during the previous year. Dr G P Kusuma proposed a vote of thanks.
