Kundapur, Mar 24: Naga Devadiga (76), who owned Annapooorna Lodge in Kollur in the taluk, committed suicide on Wednesday March 23. In a complaint filed with the police, his family reported that Devadiga ended his life by hanging from a michelia tree in front of his home in Kollur. Reason for the old man’s decision to end his life is stated to be frustration over his failing health.

Sridhar, son of Devadiga’s first wife, in the mean time, filed a counter complaint at Kollur police station, claiming that the death of his father had occurred under suspicious circumstances. Reportedly, Devadiga, who married two women, used to stay at the second wife’s home.

The Kollur policemen have registered a case and taken up investigation.
