Bangalore: Departmental Probe into PU Physics Paper Leakage

Bangalore, Mar 23: A departmental probe will be conducted into alleged leakage of physics question paper of the pre-university certificate (PUC) examination at an examination centre at Gubbi in Tumkur district on Wednesday, announced Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri.

Speaking to media persons in Bangalore on Wednesday, the minister has ruled out of holding a fresh physics examination because the alleged leakage of question paper was confined to just one examination centre.

It is neither fair nor justified to conduct a fresh examination for the students of the entire State, he said explaining that conducting a fresh examination for students of the entire State was not feasible.

The department would conduct the probe to obtain more details about the alleged leakage of question paper, he said poin ting out that Gubbi police have already arrested two persons in this connection.

Replying to a question on number of attempts for answering examinations by failed SSLC students, he said a decision has been taken to limit the number of attempts to six from this year onwards.
