Kundapur, Mar 22: Nurses should not only take care of their wards but also be cautious about their professional career. Indian nurses have won the universal recognition not merely for their job but also for the special care and devotion that they show to the patients entrusted to them, said  Bangalore-based Padmashree Group of Institutions administrative director and Malleshwaram MLA Dr C N Ashwathanarayan.

Dr Ashwathanarayan was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of annual convocation under the auspices of Bailuru Education Trust, here on Monday March 21. Dr Ashwathanarayan further urged the passing-out nurses to love and show affection to the ailing and to those who recuperate under their care and attention.

Dr Jayakar Shetty, member of Indian Dental Council, New Delhi pointed out that there is a shortage of more than three lac nurses in the country and hence nursing profession has ample scope for the humanitarian job they opt in their career.

Varalaxmi College of Nursing chairman Jayakumar and Asia Hospital director Dr Prabhakar Shetty were the chief guests.

Bailur Education Trust trustees Uday Kumar Shetty and Vinaya Kumar Shetty were also present.

Dr C N Ashwathnarayana distributed the degree certificates during the programme. The meritorious students were honoured at the same occasion.

Canara College of Nursing principal Anitha C Rao and Nightingale School of Nursing Juliana Lobo presented the annual report.

Trustee S Jayakar Shetty and Alexander welcomed the gathering. Indira Jyothi and Jyothi Shetty and Balakrishna Shetty introduced the chief guests. Gracy compered the programme. Beena proposed the vote of thanks.
