Mangalore, Mar 21: A delegation of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat (ZP) members from the BJP, met the state Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, at his residence in Bangalore on Saturday March 19, and sought a special grant of Rs 50 crore to the district for drinking water and road development needs. The delegation was headed by the ZP president, Shylaja Bhat.
The members requested the CM to release Rs 25 crore for improving the roads in the rural places of the district, and an equal sum for drinking water purposes. The delegation got an assurance from the CM in this connection, it is gathered.
The delegation had ZP vice-president, Dhanalakshmi, ZP members, Asha Timmappa Gowda, Balakrishna Suvarna Banajal, Savitri Shivaram, Keshava Gowda Bajatur, Chennappa Kotian, Sunita Sucharita Shetty, Girija, Jayashree, Tulasi Harabe, and others.
