New Delhi, Mar 21 (DHNS): Amid a fresh bout of dissident activities in the BJP Karnataka unit, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa arrived here on Sunday and is likely to meet party senior leaders to complain against some of the leaders alleging that they were trying to destabilise his government in the state.
The chief minister, who is in the capital on a three-day official tour, is likely to meet party national president Nitin Gadkari, General Secretary Arun Jaitley and other leaders like L K Advani, Venkaiah Naidu and complain against party state unit president K S Eshwarappa and national General Secretary Ananth Kumar.
Sources close to him told Deccan Herald that the chief minister had complained against Eshwarappa and Ananth Kumar to Gadkari over the phone alleging that these two leaders were instigating the legislators to revolt against his leadership. This time, he will meet all national leaders personally and explain the sequence of events of fresh dissident activities.
It is learnt that the party leaders in Delhi have also taken note of the political developments in Bangalore and they are equally worried with both Eshwarappa and Yeddyurappa holding parallel meetings with party legislators in an attempt to woo them to their respective camps.
The party national leaders, including Gadkari, had recently advised both Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa to sink their differences and work together to ensure the party’s victory in the three seats assembly by-elections to be held next month.
However, while speaking to reporters, Yeddyurappa denied any dissident activities in the party said he would convene a meeting of council of ministers meeting on March 24 to address all their problems.
Yeddyurappa also said he would hold a BJP legislative party meeting immediately after the completion of the assembly byelections to hear their grievances. Dismissing any differences with Eshwarappa, he said “it is nothing wrong if the party state president holds a meeting with state legislators and hears their grievances.”
Yeddyurappa also said he would take a state-wide tour from Madikeri on March 26 to review developmental activities. He will visit Koppal on April 2, Bagalkot on April 8, Bellary(April 16), and Gulbarga(April 22). The chief minister’s principal secretary I N S Prasad will accompany him. Another team headed by Chief Secretary S V Ranganath will visit rest of the districts during same time for review the developmental activates.
