Mumbai, Mar 20: The eleventh branch of metro-based Model Co-operative Bank was inaugurated at Prime Trade centre, Satevli Road, Valiv, Vasai (East) here on Saturday March 19.
Bishop Percival J E Fernandes inaugurated the eleventh branch of Model Co-operative Bank at Vasai (East) here on Saturday.
Model Co-operative Bank chairman Albert W D’Souza presided.
Vasai – Virar corporator Rajeev Y Patil was the chief guest.
Fr Rumao and Model Co-operative Bank founder former chairman John D’Silva and deputy chairman William Sequeira were the guests of honour.
Bishop Percival J E Fernandes in his inaugural address said that the global operations in banking sector has expanded significantly with inter-banking services, quick money transfers etc. Model Co-operative Bank that has been operating in the urban and rural areas with world-class banking facilities for all category of customers, said Bishop Percival.
Albert W D’Souza said that the Bank that is functioning under the directives of RBI has earned the customers trust and loyalty, said Albert W D’Souza.
Meanwhile, Albert W D’Souza expressed his hope that the Bank is one among the south Indian bank with potential to help the local people, in order to realize their dreams of setting up their own enterprises. It would also serve as a boon to ordinary customers by availing housing loans.
Corporator Rajeev Y Patil said that the Bank has carved its niche in the co-operative sector in the metro.
Social activists Ramesh Gokar and N Patrick, builder V P Lobo, Pankaj Parekh, Bhavesh Shah, entrepreneurs Stephen Fernandes and Victor D’Cunha, Konkani litterateur and poet Ancy Paladka, Bank directors Prem Aranha, Professor A P D’Souza, Lazarus Menezes, chartered accountant Paul Nazareth, Philip Pinto, Bendicta B Rebello and Clement Lobo, former director Marita D’Mello and others were present.
The Bank’s CEO Frank R Louis welcomed the gathering. Edward Rasquinha compered the programme. William Sequeira proposed the vote of thanks.
