Kundapur, Mar 19: In an incident that occurred on the night of Thursday March 17, two persons who allegedly were taking away cows belonging to Sridhar Hegde from Ardi Kumrabeedu in Albady village in the taluk, were held and handed over to the policemen.
The accused have been identified as Dayanand Shetty from Albady village and Balakrishna Shetty from Moodbidri. They were accompanied by four other people. When they were taking the cattle in a pick up truck, Sridhar Hegde intercepted the vehicle with the help of some of his friends. While the above two could be nabbed, their four accomplices reportedly escaped and ran away.
In a counter complaint filed in Shankarnarayana police station, Albady Dayanand Shetty alleged that Prashant Shetty, Nitish Poojary, Niranjan, Sridhar Hegde, and Santosh Poojary had stopped him and Balakrishna Shetty from Moodbidri, when they were taking away the four heads of cattle bought by them from Albady village. He also said that the above group had beaten up him and Balakrishna Shetty with wooden pieces.
