Puttur: Careless Handling of Explosives - Young Boy Critically Injured

Puttur, Mar 18: A four-year-old boy was critically injured after an explosive stored at his home went off on Thursday March 17. The incident occurred at Renjemar in Idkidu village in the taluk.

For the purpose of building a bridge across Renjemar rivulet, boulders are being blasted. Some of the explosive material used for the purpose, was stored by a person named Mohammed Hanif from Urimajal village, at his home. His four-year-old son, Mohammed Sinan, threw some explosive material into the hearth in the house. As it sent off an explosion, the boy was injured critically.

It is learnt that the boy was admitted into the intensive care unit of a private hospital here, and that his condition continues to be critical.
