Mangalore: Jeevanram Sullia Chosen for ‘Suvarna Ranga Samman’ Award

Mangalore, Mar 17: Well-known theatre personality and talented director, Jeevanram Sullia, has been chosen for the current year’s ‘Suvarna Ranga Samman’ award.

This award will be handed over to Jeevaram at 3 pm on March 27, on the occasion of World Theatre Day, at a function to be held at Kannada Bhavan of Kantavara Kannada Sangha. This award, instituted by Kantavara Kannada Sangha in the name of veteran theatre personality, Sadanand Suvarna, who had won Swarna Kamal top national award for his film, ‘Ghatashraddha’ directed by Girish Kasaravalli.

“The award will be handed over by K V Akshara, president, Neenasam, Heggodu. Dr Dhananjay Kumble, professor, Moodbidri Alva’s College, will deliver felicitation address. C K Padival, chief patron of Kannada Sangha, will be present,” said Kannada Sangha working president, Dr Na Mogasale, in a release.

Kannada and culture department of the state government will be extending special assistance for the function. The Bharath Cooperative Bank Mumbai will be the sponsor.
