Kundapur, June 24: An ancient pillar that was used for tying elephants and a stone pot used for feeding water to elephants has been found here. They were said to be used by kings dating back to more than 100 years ago.
Though the pot was under the ground the pillar was visible on the roadside earlier. Students Suhas Mallya, Samarth, Rithesh and Anwith Mallya who had heard that there was a pot searched for it under a special initiative and unearthed it.
As per information, Honnayya Arasa of the era of Keladi Shivappa Nayaka had ruled here. It is believed that the pillar and the pot belonged to his period.
