Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Mar 16: The BJP, it is learnt, has finalized the names its candidates for the bypoll being held on April 9 in three assembly constituencies in the state. In all possibility, BJP state president, K S Eshwarappa, will announce these names later in the day.

It is learnt that the BJP has decided to field S V Ramachandra from Jagalur, M Narayanaswamy from Bangarpet, and C P Yogishwar from  Channapatna constituency. Both Ramachandra and M Narayanaswamy had left the Congress recently and joined the BJP, through ‘Operation Kamala’. In the meanwhile, there is rush for tickets in both JDS and Congress camps, and it is learnt that the Congress is seriously considering the option of fielding cine actor, Ambareesh, from Channapatna constituency.

It is said that M C Ashwath from the JDS, who crossed over to the BJP in the said operation, is not very confident of his victory if he enters the fray. As such, the BJP has decided to give Yogishwar another chance to test his popularity, and if possible, defeat the likely candidate from the JDS, Kumaraswamy. From Channapatna, former MP, Tejaswini Gowda, and D K Shivakumar’s brother, D K Suresh, are trying to get ticket. Although the name of Congress leader, V S Ugrappa, is being considered for Jagalur, cine actor, Sudeep, too is said to be interested to try his luck.
