Mangalore: ‘Vandana Award’ for Kadri Gopalnath

Mangalore, Mar 15: Renowned saxophonist, Kadri Goplanath, has been chosen for the state level Vandana Award being given annually by Mangalore Central Rotary Club and Mangalore City Rotaract Club jointly. This announcement was made by Dr Devadas Pai, president of the award selection committee, at a press conference held in the city on Monday March 14.

Rai said that Goplanath was chosen for the award, takingvinto account his achievements in the field of art. The award comprises of a certificate, an attractive silver shield, and a gold medal.

“The award ceremony will be organized at 8 pm on March 18 at Eden Aquatic and Sports Foundation hall here. City corporation commissioner, Dr Vijayaprakash, will participate as the chief guest. Rotary governor, Usman Kukkady, will be present in the capacity of guest. Rotary president, Herman Pereira, will preside. President of selection committee, Dr Devadas Rai, will deliver felicitation address, he explained.

Rotary Club president, Herman Pereira, Rotaract president, Darshan, and public relations officer, M V Mallya, were present.
