Mangalore: Laxmi Machchina Chosen for Pa Go Award

Mangalore, Mar 16: Laxmi Machchina, reporter of ‘Udayavani’ Kannada daily, has been chosen for   the Pa Go Award for rural reporting, for the year 2010.

Machchina has bagged the award for his report about families living in Banjarumale forest region, which was published in the August 26 issue of the said newspaper.

The award function will be held at Patrika Bhavan in the city on March  20.  State higher education minister, Dr V S Acharya, who will participate as the chief guest of the function, will also confer the award.

The award comprises cash component of Rs 5,001, a citation, and a memento. The award is sponsored by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, said Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Union general secretary, Guruvappa N T Balepuni, in a press release.
