Kundapur, June 20: A theft of gold jewellery and cash from the residence of Raghavendra Yadiyala(41), Kamalashile village here had taken place on June 18 between 8.10 pm and 8.50 pm. Two gold bangles worth Rs 1,30,000, a gold chain worth Rs 1,50,000, a gold ring worth Rs 20,000 and Rs 5,000 in cash were reported stolen.
A case under registration No.: 65/2022 section 457 and 380 was registered at Shankernarayana police station in this connection.
Police personnel who continued investigations arrested Sridhar Madiwala (38), a resident of Uppunda, Byndoor and recovered the stolen gold bangles, a gold chain and a gold ring collectively worth Rs about Rs 3 lacs.
Kundapur circle inspector Gopikrishna arrested the accused and produced him before the court.
Shankernarayana police station PSI Sridhar Naik, PSI Sudarshan, staff Seetarama Shettigara, Raghavendra, Gopalkrishna, Manjunath, Rakesh, Anil Kumar, Wilfred D’ Souza, Vilas Rathod, Alingaraya, Kate, Chandrakumar and Jayarama Naika took part in the operation under the guidance of Kundapur sub-division ASP Srikanth K and directions from additional SP S T Siddalingappa and Udupi SP M Vishnuvardhan.
