Mangaluru, Jun 16: The police have denied permission to the activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) to hold a protest rally on June 16 in Mangaluru.
The VHP and Bajrang Dal had planned a rally against people who were indulging in violence on the pretext of protesting against the statements made against the Prophet.
The VHP and Bajrang Dal are protesting nation-wide against the violence that had erupted in the wake of the statement made against the Prophet. It had been decided to hold a protest near the PVS Circle, the announcement of which was made in the social media.

“No letter has been given seeking permission to hold a protest. With a view to maintain law and order permission has been denied,” said the police department.
VHP secretary Sharan Pumpwell said, “We had sought permission from the police to hold a protest. However, since we have been denied police permission it has been decided to condemn the violence that has erupted all over the country by submitting a petition to the president of India through the deputy commissioner on Thursday.
