Puttur: Rain water gushes into shops, farms, godowns due to shoddy civic work

Puttur, Jun 13: Due to the shoddy work done on four lane work of B C Road-Addahole, rain water gushed into shops and farm lands due to the heavy downpour near Uppinangady.

All the rain water flow drains were closed during the highway widening work which resulted in flooding of nearby areas. Bollaru in 34 Nekkiladi village, Barike near Kanchana Cross of Bajathur village and Mata of Uppinangady village got flooded and surrounded by water. The cross road which connects Nattibailu from highway and other farm lands were overflowing with water.

A godown and shop belonging to Satish Nayak near Uppinangady national highway and ground floor material of Ashwini Electricals got damaged due to rain water gushing inside the building.

Many compound walls collapsed at many places including the house of Chandra Gowda at Periyadka due to heavy rains. A tree fell on a vehicle on NH 75. For some time, traffic got affected on national highway. However, none of the passengers were hurt fortunately.

    We are witnessing the similar shoddy works in Udupi City... MLA Bhat only talks... On ground situation is pathetic... They have started clearing the drains from day before yesterday where as they should have finished by now...

    Prediction made by meterological dept proved right...somewhere rain water gushed to shops, farms, godowns.

    Raja....Maharaj, Purushothammanna.......IMD predictions....just read 👉 yesterdays news......June 14 and 15 will see heavy downpours throughout the state”.....Puttur it happened before what IMD predicted....I understand yesterday was sunday.....you had gammath...... .🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
