Bengaluru, May 22: “BJP’s work is to sell what was built by Congress for decades,” accused leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge.
Kharge was speaking at the KPCC office in the city on the occasion of the death anniversary of former PM Rajiv Gandhi. He said that BJP had weakened BSNL and were selling it to private parties.
Kharge further said, “The main job of BJP is changing names. They do not have any idea of their own. Chinthana Shibira is being held at Jaipur. PM Modi is saying that workers should visit each household and convey to people about BJP’s work. This means that people of the country are not aware of what he has done. Public will come to know only if he has done something."
“Rajiv Gandhi is a great leader who inspired youth. When he spoke in an international forum in Vienna, many global leaders and countries got attracted towards our non-alignment policy and took the decision not to side with either America or Russia.
“Lacs of acres of land were distributed to the poor in Karnataka. We gave land to 6.60 lac poor people after forming a tribunal. In the coastal area we helped lacs of people. But today they are against the Congress party, which is very unfortunate.”
