Mangaluru: 29-year-old saxophonist ends life at Shaktinagar

Mangaluru, May 18: A saxophonist ended her life here at her residence in Shaktinagar on Tuesday May 17.

The deceased is identified as Sujatha Devadiga (29).

Sujatha was staying with her family. On Tuesday, after having dinner, she locked herself in her room and ended her life.

Due to corona pandemic, she was not receiving any programmes to perform which led her into depression. In addition, she was facing severe economic crisis, said sources.

Kankanady police filed a case.

    RIP... Very sad.... What happened is happened .... now we cannot go back and reverse the scenario... However, government should investigate the case in detail and find the solution and need to take the measures to stop such things to happen in future... We public, don't understand what are they r doing with the huge tax money..... We would like to say to ...     If only our governments had implemented UCC and strict family planning, prevention of flow of anti national elements from across the border and universal education to teach them the dangers from and the courage to face the obscurantist clergy soon after freedom, we wouldn't have faced such pressure on land, such desperate unemployment.

    Depression and lack of understanding people around coupled with daunting uncertainty... Even a person of great grit and self belief will be shaken ... Depression is that stage when one battles deep within... External support can do very little in most cases... Sad to witness young talents going away... Rest in peace...

    I must disagree with one point - The right emotional Support is all that is required for an individual to not go into depression. But if the depression is at an advanced stage dedication is essential. If external factors are what is causing the depression like lack of jobs, economical issues etc. Then wouldn't helping someone with these factors prevent depression i. e suicide.

    RIP sister. There are so many jobs around you.suicide is definitely not a choice. For your living you can work as a care taker. In hospital many people looking for person who can stay at night. That job also available.if you really want to work. If you want that particular job then you have to decide your future. If Christians or Muslim help such hindus inorder to come out from that crisis then it will take another twist. She will go on telling this particular religion helped me. Then these hindu outfits join together and attack the person who helped and take it as a conversion issue. Be careful in helping someone these days.

    Acchu mangalore ,when person has strong will,then he will not suicide.One who is not having ,is labile will be suffering from it,.Thats the time someone must step in to make him strong ,give help how to go forwards .Not let down.For example ,because of marks in exam.some think they will fail didnt write good marks and suicide .When the mark sheet is published he /she has not passed but got rank or high marks.I know one of our National Torwart was good but he had this depression ,was not responding to any ones attention self wife ,not medicine .was only thinking of football to remain best ,had fear he may fail in his job ,would be taken out.One fine day he couldnt bear it ,without telling wife he drew to Railway station ,kept his head on track as it arrived ,died .Nothing could save him.They had no children.

    How can they be concerned? They get peanuts from their masters which they spend on cheap liqour. Ghar mein chula jale ya na jale unko koi farq nahi padta. Sad a young lady had to end her life due to financial constraints. The number of suicides due to not getting jobs or financial constraints has increased since 2014 and drastically since Corona. Is the government hearing ? Let first government acknowledge these deaths. Government acknowledging these deaths in itself is a big challenge, forget the solution or remedy.

    any kind of art or skill apart from mainline occupation should be practiced only as a hobby and not full time...when people do not have enough to eat, they will not attend concerts and musical nights...anyway RIP...you could have still waited for 2024 when India will be back on track and empty promises govt of chaiwala will go to himalayas for sanyas..

    i used to help many hindus a year ago or so.......like whoever asked for some help.....but after these conversion allegations i stopped because many of the Hindus who received help from me showed interest to come to church and attend prayers.....i strictly said go on your own and not with me please....i dont want to become prey to third rated bd and vhp guys.....so now even if someone says financial issues i directly ask them to approach either bjp office or bd or vhp or sharan pumpwell

    Shocking .Young woman with family?With kids ?Here in mangalore we really seriously need a Psychological treat ment for people who are having depression whatever the cause is .She must have had after corona ?or after delivery?Seriously thinking must have had financial problems too ?May her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.Of late so many young people have suicided.Sad for the famly.Govt must take it seriously and give chances to young people.
