Kasargod, May 4: The Kerala High Court has registered a suo moto case pertaining to a 16-year-old student, who died after consuming Shawarma.
The court has registered a case as per the reports of the media. And court sought an explanation from the government in this regard. The court has also questioned the Commissioner of Food Safety.
Devananda, a 16-year-old resident of Perala, Karivelluru had allegedly consumed Shawarma on the April 29 and 30 at Ideal Food Point Cool Bar. As many as 50 students were reported unhealthy after consuming food there.
Already the Kozhikode laboratory confirmed that Shigella bacteria is responsible for the incident. It also confirmed the presence of Shigella bacteria with the other three.
The police have arrested restaurant manager T Ahmed, a resident of Padannda, Chervathuru. The total number of those arrested has gone up to three.
A case has been registered against the owner of cool bar who is abroad.
