Kundapur, Apr 30: The ordinary meeting of Kundapur municipal council was held at Dr V S Acharya auditorium on April 30.
It was pointed out in the meeting that the one way traffic planned by the DySP on service road will cause problems for auto rickshaws. Standing committee president Girish G K said that public opinions should be collected regarding parking and one way traffic. Council president Veena Bhaskar said that a meeting will be held with the DySP and the concerned officials in this connection to discuss the issues.
Member Devaki Sannayya questioned the reason for buying 26 cents land for UGD wet well when the Lokayukta is investigating the rates of purchase.
Member Prabhakar said that there is no official parking place for auto rickshaws in the council limits. The council has the responsibility of providing the necessary facilities for it if the spot is finalized. “A meeting in this connection should be held with the concerned department to arrive at a decision,” he said.
Chief Officer Gopalakrishna Shetty said that there are about 24-25 auto rickshaw stands in scattered places in the council limits. “Details of the spot requested by them are sought from the revenue department. The RTO also will have to inform us about it,” he said.
“Twelve houses of the civic workers are incomplete. An appeal in this connection is submitted to the minister of backward class welfare department Kota Srinivas Poojary. He has provided Rs 12 lac on the condition of repayment,” he said.
Member Abu Mohammed said that lights are not proper at Peri Park. “The toys are damaged and those should be cleared. The garden should be well maintained.” The chief officer said that the president has already approved installing a mini High mast light with a timer in the park.
Municipal council president Veena Bhasker Mendon presided over the programme. Vice president Sandeep Kharvi, standing committee president Girish G K and chief officer Gopalakrishna Shetty were present.
