Mangaluru, Apr 29: MRPL sponsored event “Apathbandhu” was launched on Friday, April 29 at the Nitte Deemed University's KSHEMA Complex.
As many as 15 each village members from Chelairu and Madhya were trained to teach first aid to the needy people during emergencies like vehicle accidents, snake bites, dog bites, fire accidents, cardiac arrest etc with an intention of providing instant first aid to save lives during emergencies in rural areas.
MRPL has sponsored 10 such villages of its neitghbourhood from five Panchayats viz. Bala, Soorinje, Jokatte, Chelairu, Permude (each having 2 villages).
‘Apathbandhu Training’ program aims to provide knowledge and skills to the participants from these villages and enable them to assist people in the event of an accident or emergency situation. Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences along with other institutions of KSHEMA fraternity joined hands with MRPL to execute this program.
M Venkatesh launched the program in the presence of Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte Deemed University.
