Mangalore, Feb 12: Devi Prasad Rao who heads Arohana Dairy is competing in the U S established Unreasonable Institutive which seems to be operating in the great playwright Geroge Bernad Shaw’s line, ‘The reasonable man adapts himself to the world, the unreasonable one persists in adapting the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man’.
The Unreasonable Institute supports such unreasonable men (and women) to usher in a change in society. It gives guidance, access to capital and international networks to ventures that are seeking to solve the biggest social problems, ventures that will define progress in our times.
This year, 47 such ventures are competing with a unique elimination process. The first 25 finalists to raise $ 8,000, as a test of their credibility and entrepreneurial skills, are deemed to be unreasonable and fit for the aid from US bound Unreasonable Institute.
There are 14 such ventures from India and one is headed by a Mangalorean named Arohana Dairy, a social enterprise that helps small and marginal farmers. It is one of these 47 ventures. Promoted by Devi Prasad Rao and operating out of Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, the venture creates tremendous social impact in the villages.
The well-wishes can visit http://marketplace.unreasonableinstitute.org/ and select Arohana and contribute generously to help Arohana reach $ 8,000. Interested can also visit www.arohana.in to see their work.
