Mangalore, Feb 11: A free check-up camp for urology / kidney related diseases are organized at A J Hospital and Research Centre from February 14 to 26.
People with the following problems can avail the camp benefits, kidney stones and prostate related problems. Renowned and experienced doctors would be available for consultation during the camp.
The consultation and ultrasound will be free to camp participants and kidney stone removal, prostate gland and urology related problems will be treated at a concessional rate. In case of transplants, donor has to be arranged by the patient and transplant will be done only on obtaining legal clearance. Kidney transplant will be done at a concessional rate.

A Lecture on Indian Development Scenario- Issues and Concerns
In an another programme, A J Institute of Management (AJIM), a unit of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust organized an expert lecture on the topic ‘Indian Development Scenario- Issues and Concerns’, recently.
Dr G V Joshi, professor of economics, Justice K S Hedge Institute of Management and member of Karnataka State Planning Board was the resource person for the programme. He highlighted that service sector in India is the major economic sector for income generation but a minor contributor to the employment. He added that there can be growth without development, but there cannot be development without growth and mere growth is not development itself. He also stressed that growth rate of India will increase by 2% if proper importance is given to infrastructure.
Dr T Jayaprakash Rao, director of A J Institute of Management, faculty members and students were present for the lecture. K Deepak Rao, assistant Prof, chief co-ordinator of the programme, welcomed the guests.
