Udupi: Commission Has Denied Justice to Christians – G Rajshekhar

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Feb 9: Noted thinker, G Rajshekhar, opined that Justice Somashekhara Commission of Inquiry which probed the church attacks in the state seems to have prepared its report, without properly listening to the arguments and counter arguments. He was addressing the participants of a protest programme organized by the district unit of Popular Front of India here in front of the office of the district deputy commissioner on Tuesday February 8 evening.

Popular Front of India has demanded for handing over the church attack probe to Central Bureau of Investigation, as it feels that the above commission has denied justice to the Christians.

“During the hearing, the Christian victims, who were beaten up during the operation, were projected like criminals. Advocates of the Sangh Parivar were allowed to cross examine them. This act meant that the victims were denied justice even before the report was prepared,” he felt.

While alleging that the commission’s report consists of many lies, he asked for its outright rejection. He said that the raids on the prayer centres of Christians were part of repressive plans meant to exploit the gullible people.

Speaking on the occasion district president of NCHRO district unit, Fr William Martis, also insisted on ordering a CBI probe into the issue.

On this occasion, a memorandum was handed over to the deputy commissioner for onward transmission to the Prime Minister. PFI district president, Niamat Ali, general secretary, Rafique Majoor, SDPI district president, Abdurrahman Malpe, and others were present.

We too get lots of funds from western and europian countries to build our temples (ESCON Temples for example)
Our hindu fundamentalist too involved with terrarist activeitis as RSS planted a good number of boombs in some parts of our countries

This clearly shows the uncivilized culture of those who attacked churches and christians. The attackers are for sure uncivilized, uneducated, unemployed bunch of extremists paid for their job by their God fathers sitting high in Bangalore. I really wonder how our Chief Minister, leader of a democratic, secular country and also being such an elderly, matured and responsible person is still supports such acts of terrorism. Its really a shame for his honourable position as chief minister.

Mr Nagesh Nayak, conversion or no conversion is a seperate issue. In India anybody and everybody is free to enter into any religion of his choice. I fully agree with you that forceful conversions are not acceptable. If people are christian or muslim, it is not their fault. They are of a particular religion because of their parents. This applies to you as well. You are a hindu because you were born to hindu parents.

Please note nobody has a right to attack any religion just because he does not like it. There is no clause that gives any right or authority to anyone to attack someone's place of prayer or people of a particular religion. We have courts of law to deal with any grievances. Also it does not give right to the police to attack any community. No group or community or the police will attack others so boldly unless supported by the ruling govt. No one can deny the role of extremist organisations like the Sangh Parivar and the BJP govt in the church attacks. In view of all the above facts, it is better you refrain from unwanted comments just for the same of commenting. Just because christians are non-violent and peace loving don't consider it as their weakness. We will fight for justice and we will fight till the end. You are requested to justify your comments. One more friendly advice, please don't simply use words like "pseudos and Italian" all the time. They have lost their magic over time.
