Mangaluru, Apr 20: Members of the Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) have urged the government to order a CoD probe into the irregularities in making appointments for vacant posts in the Dakshina Kannada Cooperation Milk Producers Federation, Kulashekara, Mangaluru under the Karnataka Milk Federation.
DSS district convenor Ramesh Kotian told reporters here on Wednesday that the government should take action against such appointments and initiate legal action against those involved in the act.
He alleged that the managing director of the Dakshina Kannada Cooperation Milk Producers Federation, Kulashekara, Mangaluru S T Suresh was related to minister S T Somashekar and had taken a bribe to appoint his people for the existing vacancy as advertised in the newspapers.
He alleged that a female member had got 154 marks and had made the cut based on the proximity of relations with the top management of the federation.
Kotian said the SC/ST community has been deprived of opportunity due to this illegal appointment.
He urged the government to freeze the appointment immediately and put a brake to such activities besides ordering a CoD probe into the affair.
Prashanth Thottam and Sanjeev Balakuru were also present.
