Udupi, Feb 8: “The chief objective of education is to live by inculcating moral values,” said Poorna Prajna education institutions director Dr M R Hegde.
He was speaking after inaugurating the inter-collegiate talent competitions held under the aegis of Vidhyaniketan Group of Education Institutions at Vidhyaniketan Pre-University College here on Monday February 6.
“Success in life will be achieved by embodying virtues along with the studies,” said Dr Hegde.
Vidhyaniketan Group of Education Institutions correspondent K P Acharya, in his presidential address, said that youth energy should be well utilized since they account for 70 percent of the population in our country. He urged the students to develop their self-confidence and social concern which will make them virtuous in life.
Vidhyaniketan College alumnus Nishad Banoo was the chief guest on the occasion.
Alumni Association office-bearers Shruti Shetty, Jeevan Shetty, and Roshan Bangera were also present.
Stage director Udyavar Nagesh Kumar, Ma Su Ma Kodagu, Kavya Vani Kodagu, Jagdish Bannanje, and Vajra Kishore Upadhya were the jurors of the competitions.
Vidhyaniketan Group administrator Prof V K Udyavar welcomed the gathering. Prof Dora Noronha delivered the introductory address. Mushrath and Shifana compered the programme. Student union president Rakshita proposed the vote of thanks.
