Mangalore, Feb 7: Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy in associationwith sports and fitness Training Federation of India organized a free workshop on ‘Recent Advances in Physiotherapy’ to commemorate the fourth death anniverasary of Haji U T Fareed.
The late Haji U T Fareed, one of the youngest MLAs to be elected from Ullal constituency, was known for his active participation in the upliftment of the underprivileged and also for his keen interest in the educational development of the community.
The resource persons for the ‘U T Fareed Memorial Lecture’ were Kate Randerson, senior lecturer, Leeds Metropolitan University, United Kingdom and A Pitchaiah, senior physiotherapist, United Kingdom.
Dr M Ramgopal Shetty Founder secretary of the Dr M V Shetty trust presided. The workshop was attended by physiotherapists, principals, staff and students of Mangalore. The workshop was the result of the combined efforts of the organizing committee headed by Dr U T Ifthikar Ali who is also one of the sons of the late Haji U T Fareed.
