Mangaluru, April 18: The concluding programme of the silver jubilee of Catholic Sabha in Permannur church was held in the church premises on April 17.
The programme started with the group dance prayer by the children of the members. Catholic Sabha president Dolphy D’Souza welcomed. Secretary Arun D’ Souza, read the report of the last 25 years. Homage was paid among those who passed away during the last 25 years to spiritual director Fr Fredrick Moniz, Fr Thomas D’ Souza, central spiritual director Fr Mathew Vaz, former president Basil R J D’ Souza, Joslyn D’ Souza and the first president of the central committee Oscar Fernandes.
Catholic Sabha Mangaluru south deanery Vicar Var Fr Cyprian Pinto presided over the programme. Guests of honour, Stany Lobo, president Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh, Paul Rolphy D’ Cunha, former president Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh, Alwyn J D’ Souza, president Mangaluru south deanery, secretary Lavina Gretta D’ Souza, Sr Severine Fernandes, superior Bethel Convent Permannur, Superior Ancheril, Nirmala Convent, Superior Margaret Lobo, Aloysian Girls House, Ullal, Permannur parish pastoral council vice president Maurice Monteiro and secretary Philomena D’ Souza were on the dais.
Joint secretary Pramila D’ Souza proposed a vote of thanks. Arun Raj Rodrigues, director of Santanam drama, Roshan Belman, director of Humanity trust and Arun Monteiro Ranipura were felicitated. Prashanth D’ Souza introduced those who were being felicitated.
Prizes were distributed to winners of competitions. A book titled ’25 Pavlan’ was released in memory of the silver jubilee. Melwin C D’ Souza and Joseph D’ Souza compered the programme. Snacks were served to the gathering. A comedy drama titled ‘Santanam’ was staged in the end.
