Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 14: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on Thursday, April 14, reported no new coronavirus cases.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,496 out of which 5 are currently active.

The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,480 as fine in 96,208 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

No corona cases were reported on April 14, the total active Covid cases are nil. No patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday.

A total of 10,82,027 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,25,696 have received both doses and 60,692 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
