Vijayapura, Apr 14: BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal said that he will be the next chief minister (CM) of Karnataka.
Speaking to the scribes in the city, Yatnal said, “I will be the next CM of Karnataka. Why I should not be the CM? I have all the abilities to become the new leader of this state. I do not have a single accusation of corruption against me.”
This is the first time Yatnal is speaking about change of leadership after Bommai took over the reins from B S Yediyurappa. When Yediyurappa was the CM, almost every day Yatnal used to take a dig at him and say that he will be the next CM.
“I am not involved in any mining scam. There is no accusation of disproportionate assets case against me. If Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wishes he can give the responsibility of the state to me. In addition, I have the ability to make BJP win 130 seats in next assembly elections. The BJP high command has to give me the responsibility,” said Yatnal.
Defending minister KS Eshwarappa in the suicide case and accusation in death note of deceased contractor Santhosh Patil, Yatnal said, “The government should hold investigation and make sure that the protest is organized by the contactors’ association of the state or Congress. There is no question of Eshwarappa resigning in connection with this case.”
