Udupi, Apr 13: Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake arrived at Shambavi Lodge to meet the family members of deceased Santhosh K Patil on Wednesday April 13.
Addressing media later he said, “I came to meet the deceased’s family members, but the police is not permitting as the forensic procedure is in progress.
“After the farmers' suicide over unpaid loans, a new trend has begun, that is for 40% commission for contract work. Santhosh had approached the government, chief minister and prime minister as well, but all ignored his pleas. The BJP leaders claimed that it is a corruption-free government, but now people are dying here.
“When a case was registered against K J George, he resigned immediately. By now Eshwarappa should have resigned. Now how many more people should die?
“Santhosh's family statement and death note is the evidence. What else they want? Eshwarappa should resign at the earliest. I oppose this percentage dealing with contactors and I demand justice for the family. If Eshwarappa does not resign, the document which was collected during the inquest could be manipulated. A fair investigation should be conducted and Santhosh's family should get justice,” he said.
