Udupi: Baba Ramdev to Hold Health Camp on April 17

Udupi, Feb 4: As part of Bharat Swabhiman Yatra launched by Patanjali Yoga Samiti and Bharat Swabhiman Trust in September last, international Yoga Guru, Baba Ramdev, will be visiting the town on April 17. The Yatra is being conducted in 550 districts across the country, said office bearers of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Dr Acharya Suman and Pradeep, addressing a press conference here on Thursday February 3.

In the first phase, the Swabhiman Yatra will cover 12 districts in the state. Baba Ramdev will be speaking about ‘Ashtanga Yoga’ during his visit. The main objective of the Yatra is building a strong nation through able bodies. “This is a social and spiritual movement. The movement is apolitical. We dream about creating history, and the movement will continue till India gains independence in its true sense,” they explained.

“A mega Yoga camp being organized at the MGM College ground here on April 17, will be guided by Baba Ramdev from 5 am to 7.30 am. He will also convey message about the benefits of Yoga, Pranayam, Ayurveda, health, good lifestyle, and the self-respect (Swabhiman) of India. A team of 30 Ayurveda doctors will come from Haridwar specially for examining people and giving them treatments. Ayurveda medicines and other indigenous products will be available on the spot. Over 50,000 people are expected to take part in the camp,” they said.

Other office bearers, Narendra, Sujata, Dr Jnaneshwar Nayak, Shivanarayan, Umesh and Raghavendra Acharya, were present at the press conference.

Before holding the press conference, the newly opened office of Bharat Swabhiman Yatra and Yoga Camp was inaugurated by Dr Acharya Suman at Famous Complex near city bus stand here.
