Bantwal, Apr 11: “The governments at the centre and the state have made the lives of the poor pathetic with their anti- people policies,” said Communist of Party of India district joint secretary B Shekar.
He was speaking at the protest held in front of the Mini Vidhan Soudha, B C Road on April 11 called by the CPI national committee opposing the increase in prices of petrol, diesel, gas, electricity and other essential commodities, and condemning the policies of the governments at the centre and the state.
He said the price rises of gas and electricity have made the lives of the poor pitiable. CPI district executive committee member Suresh Kumar Bantwal explained the purpose of the protests.
Indian Women’s Federation state secretary Bharati Prashanth, CPI taluk leader Bhoja Karambera, Jayanth K Kamalaskha, Yogish Kumar, Gopala Bangera, Rajiva, Poovappa Gatti, Kamalaksha, AIYF’s Srinivas, Harshit, Mohan Arala, women’s wing’s Keshavati Bantwal and Mamata led the protests. CPI taluk co secretary Premanath K proposed a vote of thanks.
