Mangalore, Feb 3: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has decided to continue with its planned action of united fight against the eviction of Hindu religious centres being executed by the administration in Dakshina Kannada district.
Addressing a press conference in the city, leader of the Samiti, B Rama Bhat Sullia, noted that there is a provision in law to regularize illegal religious centres. He resented the action of the administration in serving eviction notices on some religious centres, without exploring the option of regularizing them.
District convener of the Samiti, Ramesh nayak, secretary of Federation of Temples and Religious Institutions, Ramand Gowda, GSB Seva Samiti president, Vasant Kamath, and other leaders, Anant Kamat and Ramesh Bhat, were present at the press conference.
