Mangalore, Feb 2: The first graduation day ceremony of 12 B Sc nursing students and the lamp lighting ceremony of the fifth batch of B Sc nursing students of Zulekha Nursing College were held here at Indoor Sports Complex, Yenepoya University campus, Deralakatte, recently.
Dr S Ramananda Shetty honourable vice- chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore was the chief guest who inaugurated the ceremony.
The director-medical Dr Muhammad Thahir welcomed the gathering. Al Haj Y Mohamed Kunhi, chairman, Yenepoya Group presided over the function. Al Haj Y Abdulla Kunhi, chancellor, Yenepoya University graced the function.
Dr Shetty, chief guest of the ceremony, appreciated the functioning of the entire Yenepoya group of Health Care institutions and highlighted how nursing care is important in the health care setup.
Jacintha D’Souza, principal Father Muller College of Nursing was the guest of honour. In her speech she highlighted the virtues of a nurse and called for imbibing these virtues as professionals. Prof Jacintha Veigas principal, Zulekha Nursing College read the college report.
Sr Jacintha D’souza, along with the principal and senior teachers of the college lit the lamps for freshers.The first college magazine ‘Web Lekha’ was released during the function. The college anthem was also unveiled on the occasion. Director operation Y Abdulla Javeed and director academic of Yenepoya University Prof P C M Kunhi were present.
Sweedle, lecturer Zulekha Nursing College proposed the vote of thanks.
