Panaji: Anjuna police arrest Japanese national with drugs worth 3.2 lac

Panaji, Apr 8: Hingata Yasuji, 59, a Japanese national was arrested by the Anjuna police and seized drugs worth about Rs 3.2 lac from his possession.

In the early hours of Thursday, April 7, the Anjuna police received information that a foreigner living in a rented house at Zorwada, Anjuna, was possessing drugs. Soon after they received the information the police conducted a raid and found charas and ganja hidden in the scooter parked outside the house.

Anjuna police have registered a case against Yasuji under the NDPS Act. The police have also seized the scooter, his mobile phone and his passport, which had expired.

The accused was produced before the court and has been remanded to seven days police custody
