Mangalore, Jan 29: President of Dakshina Kannada District Haj Executive Committee, Yenepoya Mohammed Kunhi, said that it is mandatory for the people who wish to take up Haj pilgrimage during this year, to possess international passports before filing applications in the prescribed forms for the pilgrimage.
For the convenience of those who do not possess passports, a Passport Mela is being organized from 10 am to 4 pm on February 2 at the Yenepoya Trust office located in Karnad Sadashiva Rao Memorial Building by the side of the Idgah on Light House Hill Road, he stated.
Pilgrims from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Kodagu districts can participate in the said Mela. Kunhi clarified that as per the directions of Haji Mohammed Ghouse Basha, president of the State Haj Committee, before attending the Mela, the concerned should bring with them all the documents that are required for applying for the passport.
