Udupi: ‘Maintain sanctity of examinations, hold them systematically’ - DC

Udupi, Mar 23: Deputy commissioner (DC) of the district, Kurma Rao M, asked the officials to maintain sanctity of the SSLC examinations being held from March 28 and April 11 in the examination halls in the district. "Take care to hold the examinations in a systematic manner. We should strive to get the top slot in the state as far as SSLC examination is concerned," he added.

Speaking after presiding over the meeting held at the court hall of the DC office on Tuesday March 22, he said that 7,229 boys and 6,793 girls from a total of 266 schools will appear for this year's SSLC examination here. He revealed that the total figure of 14,022 candidates includes 13,672 freshers and 298 private candidates. He revealed that the examination will be held in 58 centres spread over the district.

The DC urged the officials to see that no student skips the examination and that the district gets the highest pass percentage. "CCTV cameras have to be fitted in all the centres and after verifying whether they are functioning properly, report should be sent two days in advance. Arrangements should be made to see that question papers reach the examination centres in time. In addition to deploying necessary staff for the examination centres, additional staff should be posted," he advised.

Kurma Rao asked the officials to properly follow the covid19 guidelines and get support of other departments wherever necessary. He revealed that health department staff would be deployed to examination centres, and prohibitory orders will be in place up to a radius of 200 metres around the exam centres. "Xerox shops have to be compulsory closed. No one is permitted to take mobile phones cameras etc inside the examination centres," he said.

Zilla panchayat chief executive officer Dr Naveen Bhat, advised the transport system to be in readiness to facilitate the students reach their examination centres in time. He advised the officials to scrupulously follow the guidelines given to hold the examination in a transparent manner and to maintain the answer sheets carefully.

Additional deputy commissioner Veena, ASP Siddalingappa, DDPI Govind Madivala, district institute of education and training principal, Ashok Kamath and others were present.
