Panaji: Merchants urge MMC to renovate toilets in priority

Daijiworld Media Release - Panaji

Panaji, Mar 16: Assesing that the general public, merchants, and workers are affected due to the lack of proper toilets and sanitation facilities, the new commitee of Mapusa Merchants Association has urged Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) to make the toilet facility in the market functional on priority. A delegation of merchants urged MMC chairperson Shubhangi Vaigankar to renovate the public toilet near Hotel Shantadurga on priority.

The delegation also pointed out that the other toilet at matki bazar is found closed most of the time due to lack of water and hence needs attention.

“We request you to make the toilet facilities functional as soon as possible,” said president of Mapusa Merchants Association Shripad Sawant.

Apart from renovation of toilers, the merchants also requested the chairperson to undertake desilting of gutters in the market so that debris and plastic waste is cleared before the monsoon to avoid water-logging in the monsoon season.
