Panaji, Mar 12: Both old and new Mandovi bridges were closed for an hour each on Saturday in order to carry out inspection and recording of deck levels.
The old bridge was closed from 6.30 am to 7.30 am while New bridge was closed from 7.30 am to 8.30 am. An order in this connection was issued by the DC of North Goa.
Light vehicular traffic was however, allowed on both sides of old mandovi bridge during closure of new bridge. Heavy vehicles were diverted through Atal Sethu. Similary, while the old bridge was closed, the traffic was allowed on new bridge and Atal Sethu.
Both the bridges were opened after completion of repair work.
