Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 10: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, March 10, reported 3 new coronavirus case while Udupi registered nil cases.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,440 out of which 26 are currently active.

As many as 2 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,848.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,92,180 as fine in 96,075 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

No positive cases were reported on Thursday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 32. A total of 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday.

Udupi taluk reported 0 cases, Kundapura 0 and 0 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,51,504 people have received first dose of vaccination and 962543 have received both doses and 46,002 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
