Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 7: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, March 7, reported four new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered one cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,431 out of which 25 are currently active.

As many as 6 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,847.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,83,880 as fine in 95,992 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 1 new case was reported on Monday. The total active Covid cases are 42. A total of 7 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday.

Udupi taluk reported 1 case.

A total of 10,51,299 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,55,199 have received both doses and 44,871 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
