Bommai gives Rs 25 lac to bereaved family of Naveen killed in Ukraine

Bengaluru, Mar 6: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai personally visited the residence of Naveen Shekarappa Gyangoudar, medical student who died in Ukraine due to bombing by Russian forces.

Naveen, a resident of Chalageri village, Ranebennur taluk, Haveri district was killed in Kharkiv when he was out of his bunker to buy food.

The chief minister consoled the parents of Naveen and handed over a cheque of Rs 25 lac as compensation.

Bommai also promised that the mortal remains of Naveen will be brought back to his native place soon.

    If Karnataka Government would have offered Medical seats for Students in reasonable rates unlike overcharging like 1.5 crores many of the student would not try for Ukraine , Turkey or Georgia universities for Medical studies , Karnataka Medical and Engineering studies are costly compare to rest of the world generally and in India particularly. Our government wants to invest more in to Goshala- Cow -Beef Intercommunity enmities etc like pouring oil for fire.

    Would they pay 25 lakhs if the dead man was a non Hindu? Question 2- why is there no compensation for those who died of Covid and for government’s utter failure? Where is the money from vaccination and PCR gone? Shameless politicians stoop down to any level to gain publicity and mileage. The rogues do not even spare the dead. Totally disgusting.

    What is point is paying the public tax payers money after the death of a young student....why the government did not provide the facility of educating these young students within the country and why they have to go to foreign developing country......all wrong and failed policies of the government and now trying to repair the damage by paying some compensation for votes....!!! pathetic situation..every where...!!!!

    We all are deeply felt and feel sorry for the untimly and unexpected departure of Naveen. It should not have happened. But the question has often emerged here, whether it is correct to pay money in the cases of this nature? Those who fail to clear the NEAT go to Russia, China, Ukraine to fulfil their unmet ambitions.They have not gone there to fight the enemy or to fulfil any national cause Likewise many many joined UK based or or Austrlian based Private and substandard autonomous colleges to complete Masters in Management courses. Why MBBS? There are many other courses available here.Why to pay 30 lakhs to these foreign autonomous colleges? I cannot understand the reason for garlending them like war heros, unlike many other developed countries We are sincere in evocuation process, we have been doing this by spending crores of tax payers money. It is ok, keeping in view of our past practice. In future, in the cases of this nature, we have to make them to buy some sort of insurance like, evacuation insurance, or other types of insurance, without which, they should not be permitted to go to China or Russia or UK for further studies.

    Dear they went to study that country with their parents money not government money & Maybe Naveens family didn't request for 25 lakh. This is BJP governments event management/ Marketing program to hide their failures to evacuate students on time when other countries done this on time because Pradhan Sevakh is more interested in elections than these things. Pradhan Sevakh forgot that he is PM if India not a particular state which is going to poll. Karunakarji in your entire comment block you intelligently criticise the student who went for education & nicely protected the failures of the government. Dont think you are not the only person who is paying tax but the family of the deceased/ entire students community who is struck in Ukaraine/ we too pay it. About MBBS every student having their own interests in studies. Some have low marks I mean around 90% they are unable to get the seat because we have ocean of intelligent students in India & scarcity of Medical colleges to fill that ocean. Dont think those who are studying in Australia or in Ukraine they are less intelligent.
