Bhupathi, Lara to Get Married on Feb 19

BANGALORE, Jan 13(TOI): In tennis, the sport Mahesh Bhupathi has played with great authority on the world stage, 'love' signals the beginning of things. It is love-all then for power player Hesh and Bollywood hottie Lara Dutta, whose wedding invitation has begun to arrive.

The wedding, to be held at a luxury resort in Goa on February 19, will be an exclusive, by-invitation-only affair with some 300 guests, mostly family and friends. The bride and groom — Lara, former Miss Universe, who completed her schooling in Bangalore, and Hesh, a globe-trotting pro, who has business and tennis interests in India's Silicon Valley — are yet to finalise their outfits for the big day. Lara, however, is expected to walk down the aisle in a white gown.

The invite, embossed with the couple's initials 'L and M', has the words 'love is a gift' on its back cover. The elegant card, designed by the bride-to-be with some professional help, has a spread of pink roses printed against a gold-tinted background.

Hesh and the 32-year-old actress got engaged in September 2010 during the US Open in New York. The engagement became public when the doubles star announced it on a social networking site shortly after, during India's Davis Cup tie against Brazil in Chennai. Earlier this year, Hesh announced on Twitter, "My new year resolution for this decade is.... Get married and stay married".
