"It was not exactly the wish I had before the game but it was the second worst wish," said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
"It was important to keep the momentum and not to go out today because that would have been a shocker."

Stephen Hunt levelled from the spot 10 minutes into the second half, but George Elokobi was sent off and Wolves were left to hang on.
York City held out for 83 minutes away to Bolton Wanderers before goals from Kevin Davies and Johan Elmander saw the Premier League side through 2-0.
"We have to play on the front foot with a real intensity for the whole duration of a match," said Bolton boss Owen Coyle.
"Any less then we're always going to find difficult moments in a game, no matter who we play. We didn't have enough intensity in the first half."
Michael Chopra put Cardiff City of the Championship ahead against Stoke City, but Tuncay Sanli capitalised on a Ricardo Fuller flick just before half-time to earn a 1-1 draw and a replay.
