Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 25: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, February 25, reported 14 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 17 cases.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,376 out of which 147 are currently active.

As many as 38 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,845.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,64,480 as fine in 95,798 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 17 new cases were reported on Friday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 127. A total of 19 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.

Udupi taluk reported 12 cases, Kundapura 2 and 3 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,50,724 people have received first dose of vaccination and 938383 have received both doses and 42,774 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
